Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty are set for a strong start today, November 20, taking cues from GIFT Nifty, which was trading near 26,154.

Among individual stocks, Infosys buyback window will open today until November 26. The buyback, which will see the company repurchase 100 million outstanding shares at Rs 1,800 each.

On November 19, the Indian equity markets rebounded sharply, wiping out the previous session’s losses, with Nifty closing above the 26,000 mark, supported mainly by gains in IT and financial stocks.

On Wednesday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 85186.47 up by 513.45 points or by 0.61 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26052.65 up by 142.6 points or by 0.55 %. On the global front, Across Asia, markets were trading firmly in the green. Last seen, Japan’s Nikkei was up 3.62 per cent, mainland China’s CSI 300 was higher by 0.47 per cent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 0.65 per cent, and South Korea’s KOSPI advanced 2.5 per cent. Overnight, US equities also ended higher. At the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.10 per cent, the S&P 500 rose 0.38 per cent, and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.59 per cent.

Back home, Top traded Volumes on NSE Nifty – HDFC Bank Ltd. 19813847.00, Tata Steel Ltd. 19621610.00, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. 17854517.00, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. 15765235.00, Eternal Ltd. 15532632.00, On NSE, total number of shares traded was 449.96 Crore and total turnover stood at Rs. 98010.09 Crore.

On NSE Future and Options, total number of contracts traded in index futures was 124168 with a total turnover of Rs. 24548.70 Crore. Along with this total number of contracts traded in stock futures were 1593840 with a total turnover of Rs. 109118.12 Crore. Total numbers of contracts for index options were 55156494 with a total turnover of Rs. 10825377.09 Crore. and total numbers of contracts for stock options were 9705266 with a total turnover of Rs. 688272.91 Crore.

The FIIs on 19/11/2025 stood as net buyer in equity and debt. Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 29623.26 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 590.65 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 30009.87 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 933.81 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. -386.61 Crore and Rs. -343.16
