Mid-Session: Sensex up 534 points; NSE Nifty at 22547.8

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade higher on Tuesday amid buying in index heavyweights including HCL Technologies Ltd, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.and Infosys Ltd. among others.



At 12:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 72459.58 up by 534.9 points or by 0.74 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22547.8 up by 184.45 points or by 0.82 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 72620.91 and intraday low of 71703.56 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22581.15 and intraday low of 22288.45



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1312.35,+7.57%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2254.50,+6.00%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1535.10,+4.43%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1053.20,+3.56%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1869.25,+2.59%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 438.60,-0.99%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 11215.65,-0.95%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 320.90,-0.63%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1741.55,-0.60%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4768.85,-0.55%), among others.



IT index was at 28360.64 up by 1140.7 points or by 4.19%. HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1312.35,+7.57%), Birlasoft Ltd. (Rs. 292.35,+6.83%), KPIT Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 512.50,+6.63%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2254.50,+6.00%), Tanla Platforms Ltd. (Rs. 528.05,+5.82%),.

Power index was at 6950.97 down by -73.31 points or by -1.04%. Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 29884.20,-4.22%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 4094.00,-3.94%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 839.65,-2.62%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 429.10,-2.30%), JSW Energy Ltd. (Rs. 459.70,-1.72%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4532 , shares advanced were 1893 while 2367 shares declined and 272 were unchanged.
