Stock markets flat; UltraTech Cement, M&M top losers

The Sensex and Nifty continued to trade lower on Thursday, as relentless foreign fund outflows weighed on investor sentiment.



However, the decline remained limited as crude oil prices eased below the USD 100-per-barrel mark, providing some support to the domestic market.



At 10:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 72473.49 down by -6.8 points or by -0.01 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22568.75 down by -51.7 points or by -0.23 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 72572.9 and intraday low of 72187.62 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22610.6 and intraday low of 22508.05



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 433.00,+3.69%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1016.80,+2.19%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2088.05,+1.86%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1251.20,+1.81%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1238.80,+1.04%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 10664.30,-2.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2879.55,-2.30%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 11744.00,-1.72%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 314.00,-1.71%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 259.70,-1.54%), among others.



IT index was at 27142.05 up by 423.5 points or by 1.59%. Mphasis Ltd. (Rs. 2246.55,+4.06%), Genesys International Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 282.65,+3.57%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 1814.00,+3.54%), Sasken Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1711.65,+3.01%), Zensar Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 435.05,+2.99%),.



Auto index was at 56791.8 down by -1369.79 points or by -2.36%. Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 10084.95,-7.14%), UNO Minda Ltd. (Rs. 1143.20,-3.23%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (Rs. 6932.00,-2.98%), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Rs. 809.55,-2.57%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 410.90,-2.54%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4128 , shares advanced were 1563 while 2343 shares declined and 222 were unchanged
