Sensex down 66 points; Nifty around 22,550

The Nifty50 and Sensex opened lower as continued concerns over prolonged supply disruptions from the West Asia region weighed on investor sentiment.



At 9:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 72413.49 down by -66.8 points or by -0.09 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22556.05 down by -64.4 points or by -0.28 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 72450.34 and intraday low of 72187.62 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22590.05 and intraday low of 22522.15



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 428.05,+2.50%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1014.00,+1.91%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1250.20,+1.72%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2075.00,+1.22%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1238.05,+0.98%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2873.85,-2.50%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 11733.40,-1.80%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 10795.00,-1.64%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 314.40,-1.58%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 383.75,-1.56%), among others.



IT index was at 27010.66 up by 292.11 points or by 1.09%. InfoBeans Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 149.20,+4.08%), Genesys International Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 281.45,+3.13%), Mphasis Ltd. (Rs. 2220.85,+2.87%), Cybertech Systems & Software Ltd. (Rs. 144.00,+2.86%), Accelya Solutions India Ltd. (Rs. 1120.55,+2.65%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3433 , shares advanced were 1196 while 2050 shares declined and 187 were unchanged.
