Sensex marginally up, Nifty above 23,050

The Sensex and Nifty 50 traded marginally higher in early deals, with market sentiment getting some support from reports that the US and Iran are discussing a possible framework to bring the conflict to an end. Hopes of easing geopolitical tensions provided a mild boost to investor sentiment.



At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73592.25 up by 11.71 points or by 0.02 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23083.1 up by 20 points or by 0.09 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73800.94 and intraday low of 73477.77 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23104.4 and intraday low of 23030



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3881.15,+0.94%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1197.20,+0.90%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2990.00,+0.84%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 268.75,+0.66%), State Bank of India (Rs. 984.20,+0.58%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 994.55,-1.44%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2050.75,-1.26%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1530.75,-0.99%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 1923.25,-0.50%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1848.05,-0.27%), among others.
