Indian stock market benchmarks traded sharply lower on Thursday afternoon, weighed down by a surge in the US benchmark Treasury yield to its highest level since 2007 and a rise in crude oil prices above the USD 100-per-barrel mark.
At 14:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73657.28 down by -1170.97 points or by -1.56 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23065.3 down by -381.5 points or by -1.63 %.
