Sensex up 327 points; Metal, realty stocks support

Indian stock market benchmarks traded higher on Wednesday afternoon amid buying in Metal and Realty stocks.



At 14:24 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74856.29 up by 327.21 points or by 0.44 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23442.8 up by 113.8 points or by 0.49 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74973.74 and intraday low of 74599.88 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23466.9 and intraday low of 23349.55



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 190.95,+3.38%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1034.00,+2.48%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 269.80,+1.79%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11168.00,+1.55%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 270.10,+1.54%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1018.00,-1.15%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2083.25,-1.08%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1258.05,-0.94%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3033.00,-0.56%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4886.40,-0.48%), among others.



Metal index was at 42012.06 up by 923.41 points or by 2.25%. Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 184.45,+6.01%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 190.95,+3.38%), Jindal Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1176.80,+3.36%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 361.90,+2.84%), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 81.97,+2.48%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4728 , shares advanced were 2805 while 1668 shares declined and 255 were unchanged.
