Mid-Session: Sensex falls 220 points; IT slides 1.4%, realty gains

Indian stock market benchmarks traded lower on Tuesday, with Nifty trading around to 23,350.



At 12:15 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74638.25 down by -220.74 points or by -0.29 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23359.4 down by -54.9 points or by -0.23 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75038.93 and intraday low of 74596.39 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23489 and intraday low of 23341.5



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4943.95,+1.42%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 337.70,+0.81%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4975.70,+0.68%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 743.60,+0.49%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1795.45,+0.42%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1258.10,-1.73%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1023.60,-1.58%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1537.40,-1.32%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2104.50,-1.20%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1847.00,-1.12%), among others.



Realty index was at 6707.57 up by 39.25 points or by 0.59%. Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1240.00,+2.18%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 606.50,+1.90%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 664.80,+1.26%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1942.30,+0.69%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1830.45,+0.42%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4447 , shares advanced were 2232 while 1957 shares declined and 258 were unchanged.
