Sensex surges 600 points; Nifty Metal snaps 3-day winning streak

Indian benchmark indices continued to gain strength during the noon trading session as oil prices declines, allaying concerns about inflation and growth outlook.



At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74916.93 up by 621.97 points or by 0.84 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23455.2 up by 108.8 points or by 0.47 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74987.4 and intraday low of 74454.18 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23466.8 and intraday low of 23314.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11119.55,+4.21%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1283.10,+3.64%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 335.15,+2.63%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4860.00,+2.18%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2454.30,+2.05%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1828.80,-1.99%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1038.55,-1.10%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 268.05,-0.72%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 183.85,-0.49%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1792.40,-0.48%), among others.



Realty index was at 6672.61 up by 116.34 points or by 1.77%. DLF Ltd. (Rs. 658.55,+4.36%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1930.00,+2.82%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1823.00,+2.53%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1141.00,+2.32%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1468.50,+0.72%),.
