Mid-Session: Sensex over 500 points, UltraTech Cement, HCL Tech support

Indian stock market benchmarks traded higher on Monday afternoon, with the Sensex jumping 500 points.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74816.24 up by 521.28 points or by 0.7 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23413.95 up by 67.55 points or by 0.29 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74879.93 and intraday low of 74454.18 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23434.05 and intraday low of 23314.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11120.00,+4.22%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1268.40,+2.46%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1877.65,+2.30%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2458.95,+2.24%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4853.00,+2.03%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1836.95,-1.56%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1036.95,-1.26%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1785.40,-0.87%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 267.90,-0.78%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 184.40,-0.19%), among others.



Realty index was at 6677.01 up by 120.74 points or by 1.84%. DLF Ltd. (Rs. 656.45,+4.03%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1936.25,+3.16%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1140.00,+2.23%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1811.85,+1.90%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1472.10,+0.97%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4685 , shares advanced were 2216 while 2193 shares declined and 276 were unchanged.
