Stock markets firm on easing oil prices, fresh foreign fund inflows

Market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty surged higher on Monday amid cooling crude oil prices, fresh foreign fund inflows and a positive trend in Asian equities.



At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74660.26 up by 365.3 points or by 0.49 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23372.75 up by 26.35 points or by 0.11 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74787.26 and intraday low of 74454.18 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23410.75 and intraday low of 23314.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11020.50,+3.28%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1885.35,+2.72%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1270.55,+2.63%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2459.05,+2.25%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4983.60,+1.72%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1840.95,-1.34%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1036.75,-1.28%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 267.00,-1.11%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1786.20,-0.82%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 184.70,-0.03%), among others.



CDS index was at 61028.44 up by 782.59 points or by 1.3%. Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2457.20,+2.17%), Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1147.50,+1.46%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4825.50,+1.45%), Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 13230.00,+0.99%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 1106.45,+0.95%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4375 , shares advanced were 2053 while 2027 shares declined and 295 were unchanged.
