Sensex rises 470 points, Nifty near 23,400

The Nifty50 and Sensex advanced as declining crude oil prices eased concerns over inflation and the growth outlook.



At 9:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74765.42 up by 470.46 points or by 0.63 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23392.45 up by 46.05 points or by 0.2 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74787.26 and intraday low of 74454.18 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23407.8 and intraday low of 23314.8



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11038.25,+3.45%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1881.55,+2.51%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2460.00,+2.29%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1261.90,+1.93%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4990.85,+1.87%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1032.85,-1.65%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1775.40,-1.42%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1848.50,-0.94%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 267.70,-0.85%), among others.



CDS index was at 61017.87 up by 772.02 points or by 1.28%. Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2460.00,+2.29%), Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1152.80,+1.93%), Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 13263.70,+1.25%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 1108.45,+1.14%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4810.00,+1.12%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3939 , shares advanced were 2088 while 1621 shares declined and 230 were unchanged.
