Indian equity indices bounced back on September 16, snapping a two-day losing streak, with the Nifty closing above 23,200 amid broad-based buying across sectors, except IT.
The benchmarks opened higher but came under pressure during the initial hours before recovering as buying emerged in FMCG, realty and financial stocks. Easing crude oil prices also provided some support to market sentiment.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 74336.45 up by 332.63 points or by 0.45 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23217.6 up by 99 points or by 0.43 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 74505.86 and intraday low of 73981.33 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23284.75 and intraday low of 23116.1
