Mid-Session: Sensex down 350 points; HCL Technologies, M&M top gainers

The Nifty50 and Sensex trimmed their losses, supported by gains in IT and FMCG stocks.



At 12:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74552.09 down by -350.5 points or by -0.47 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23346 down by -131.8 points or by -0.56 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74584.35 and intraday low of 74160.16 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23360.85 and intraday low of 23231.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1222.00,+2.11%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1541.20,+1.49%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1042.00,+1.01%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 260.20,+0.46%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 403.90,+0.22%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 182.30,-1.96%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1030.00,-1.53%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1257.50,-1.37%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3112.95,-1.17%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 268.90,-1.14%), among others.



TECk index was at 14812.63 up by 97.98 points or by 0.67%. Sun TV Network Ltd. (Rs. 480.60,+5.56%), Indus Towers Ltd. (Rs. 390.60,+4.80%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1222.00,+2.11%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1541.20,+1.49%), PVR INOX Ltd. (Rs. 1236.80,+1.17%),.



Realty index was at 6586.76 down by -225.76 points or by -3.31%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1733.00,-7.28%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1101.00,-6.06%), Aditya Birla Real Estate Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4559 , shares advanced were 1567 while 2743 shares declined and 249 were unchanged.
