Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed higher on Thursday, snapping a three-session losing streak, supported by late-session buying in blue-chip stocks HDFC Bank and Axis Bank.
However, gains remained limited as crude oil prices stayed above the USD 100-per-barrel mark amid persistent geopolitical tensions, keeping investor sentiment and risk appetite subdued through the session.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 74902.59 up by 138.36 points or by 0.19 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23477.8 up by 46.3 points or by 0.2 %.
