Mid-Session: Sensex up 45 points; NSE Nifty at 23457.35

Indian benchmark indices remained largely flat in Thursday's trade, with the Nifty holding around the 23,450 level.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 74809.36 up by 45.13 points or by 0.06 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23457.35 up by 25.85 points or by 0.11 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74910.96 and intraday low of 74666.1 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23494.95 and intraday low of 23403.05



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 271.25,+1.99%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1520.00,+1.18%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1251.00,+0.93%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 322.20,+0.69%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 691.85,+0.67%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1207.25,-1.57%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 186.55,-1.06%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1850.00,-0.99%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2192.00,-0.77%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4927.50,-0.74%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 25836.63 up by 69.1 points or by 0.27%. Petronet LNG Ltd. (Rs. 289.00,+1.24%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 154.20,+1.18%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 236.30,+1.07%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 351.50,+0.72%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 501.30,+0.46%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4483 , shares advanced were 2087 while 2154 shares declined and 242 were unchanged.
