Indian benchmark indices are likely to open lower on September 11, tracking weak cues from GIFT Nifty, which was trading around 23,356.50 in early trade, indicating a gap-down opening.
The domestic equity market had snapped a three-day losing streak in the previous session, with the Nifty closing above the 23,400 mark in a rangebound trade, supported by buying in media and financial stocks.
On Thursday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 74902.59 up by 138.36 points or by 0.19 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23477.8 up by 46.3 points or by 0.2 %.
On the global front, Markets in the Asia-Pacific region were trading sharply lower, mirroring similar overnight moves on Wall Street, as traders weighed the inflation outlook amid high oil prices, and as bond yields advanced. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s Kospi fell 3 per cent and 2.6 per cent, respectively.
On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 settled 0.6 per cent and 0.58 per cent lower, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite ended 0.65 per cent lower.

Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 17034.27 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 884.19 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 18061.55 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 314.26 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. -1027.28 Crore and Rs. 569.93
