Mid-Session: Sensex up 175 points; Bajaj Finserv shares up 5% post Q1 result

The Nifty50 and Sensex traded higher during the noon trading session, led by gains in financial services stocks.



At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 78103.74 up by 175.59 points or by 0.23 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24374.7 up by 57.55 points or by 0.24 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 78139.85 and intraday low of 77809.93 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24384.4 and intraday low of 24299.7



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1135.30,+7.50%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2007.60,+5.16%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3440.15,+4.92%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2024.90,+1.21%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1683.00,+1.12%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2381.40,-2.08%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 305.50,-1.71%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1136.50,-1.70%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 282.10,-1.10%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 748.80,-0.97%), among others.



Auto index was at 63391.76 up by 1364.78 points or by 2.2%. Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (Rs. 2191.25,+8.23%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2461.20,+6.73%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3448.10,+5.16%), Ashok Leyland Ltd. (Rs. 164.80,+4.11%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 431.05,+3.80%),.



IT index was at 29633.45 down by -283.96 points or by -0.95%. Expleo Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 803.90,-11.47%), Nucleus Software Exports Ltd. (Rs. 691.65,-6.05%), GNG Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 529.20,-5.00%), Nintec Systems Ltd. (Rs. 791.00,-4.81%), Sagility Ltd. (Rs. 44.10,-4.11%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4375 , shares advanced were 2672 while 1491 shares declined and 212 were unchanged.
