Mid-Session: Sensex rises 161 points; M&M, Infosys top gainers

Indian benchmark indices trimmed early losses and bounced back in green during the noon trading session.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77816.47 up by 161.87 points or by 0.21 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24306.75 up by 56.55 points or by 0.23 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 77900.73 and intraday low of 77440.91 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24331.4 and intraday low of 24187.1



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1680.40,+2.19%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1175.15,+1.70%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1293.35,+1.36%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1361.50,+1.33%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 286.25,+1.24%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1666.25,-3.15%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11794.55,-1.70%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 307.60,-1.22%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5220.70,-1.08%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1904.85,-1.05%), among others.



TECk index was at 15857.15 up by 145.61 points or by 0.93%. Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 188.60,+2.75%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 1757.20,+2.36%), Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 5599.80,+2.24%), Indus Towers Ltd. (Rs. 394.90,+2.23%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1679.25,+2.12%),.



Realty index was at 7075.27 down by -93.74 points or by -1.31%. Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1621.20,-3.04%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 659.70,-1.60%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2122.00,-1.58%), Aditya Birla Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 1387.00,-1.35%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1817.60,-1.15%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4392 , shares advanced were 1780 while 2378 shares declined and 234 were unchanged.
