Mid-Session: Sensex, Nifty trade higher; IT, TECK stocks support

Indian indices were trading with marginal gains during the noon trading session with Nifty around 24,000.



At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76907.72 up by 71.94 points or by 0.09 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24017.75 up by 21.8 points or by 0.09 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 76988.48 and intraday low of 76705.22 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24041.15 and intraday low of 23961.95



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2405.00,+4.79%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1627.05,+3.34%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 305.55,+3.31%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1333.75,+2.92%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1110.20,+2.89%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2043.75,-6.02%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 394.90,-3.00%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 344.45,-1.77%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 285.10,-1.32%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1429.20,-1.11%), among others.



IT index was at 29318.34 up by 966.07 points or by 3.41%. Affle 3I Ltd. (Rs. 1633.30,+9.40%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 1669.00,+9.20%), Hexaware Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 600.00,+6.99%), Mastek Ltd. (Rs. 1849.20,+6.77%), 63 Moons Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 773.00,+6.04%),.



Power index was at 7602.91 down by -163.8 points or by -2.11%. CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 838.90,-4.36%), Siemens Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 3141.20,-3.74%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4415 , shares advanced were 1644 while 2500 shares declined and 271 were unchanged.
