Indian benchmark indices snapped a five-session losing streak on Monday, with the Sensex surging 776 points, driven by a sharp decline in crude oil prices following easing geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
Improved global risk sentiment after signs of de-escalation in the region boosted investor confidence, prompting broad-based buying across equities and lifting the benchmark indices.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 76835.78 up by 776.01 points or by 1.02 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23995.95 up by 228.5 points or by 0.96 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 76901.51 and intraday low of 76517.85 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24011.6 and intraday low of 23891.55
