Sensex trades at day's high; IT, Realty stocks support

Indian benchmark indices continued to gain strength during the noon trading session as IT, realty, and pharma shares advanced.



At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76856.1 up by 796.33 points or by 1.05 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23998.1 up by 230.65 points or by 0.97 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 76901.51 and intraday low of 76517.85 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24011.6 and intraday low of 23891.55



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 295.75,+5.63%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5210.00,+4.51%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1079.75,+3.73%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1045.80,+3.27%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2712.45,+2.81%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 741.40,-0.16%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 288.20,-0.03%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1227.85,-0.02%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1768.00,-0.01%), among others.



IT index was at 28380.75 up by 666.59 points or by 2.41%. Capillary Technologies India Ltd. (Rs. 537.45,+13.10%), Latent View Analytics Ltd. (Rs. 318.25,+7.54%), ASM Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 4565.20,+7.31%), Sagility Ltd. (Rs. 43.40,+7.27%), Protean eGov Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 626.80,+5.52%),.



Oil&Gas index was at 26068.57 down by 10.28 points or by 0.04%. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 239.50,-3.72%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 442.80,-1.60%), Petronet LNG Ltd. (Rs. 273.25,-0.55%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4740 , shares advanced were 2855 while 1612 shares declined and 273 were unchanged.
