Mid-Session: Sensex surges 636 pts; Eternal, IndiGo top gainers

Sensex and Nifty traded firmly higher during the noon trading session on Monday, led by strong gains in IT, FMCG and realty stocks, while broader markets also advanced.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76696.72 up by 636.95 points or by 0.84 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23951.2 up by 183.75 points or by 0.77 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 76768.13 and intraday low of 76517.85 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23972.8 and intraday low of 23891.55



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 295.35,+5.48%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5216.40,+4.64%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1078.90,+3.65%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1043.55,+3.05%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2706.60,+2.59%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1756.75,-0.64%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 739.30,-0.44%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1223.75,-0.35%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11810.20,-0.25%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 384.55,-0.04%), among others.



IT index was at 28378.7 up by 664.54 points or by 2.4%. Capillary Technologies India Ltd. (Rs. 544.00,+14.48%), Latent View Analytics Ltd. (Rs. 318.50,+7.62%), Orient Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 278.60,+7.55%), Vakrangee Ltd. (Rs. 6.19,+6.72%), Sagility Ltd. (Rs. 43.08,+6.48%),.

Oil&Gas index was at 26079.06 down by 20.77 points or by 0.08%. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 241.15,-3.06%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 444.40,-1.24%), Petronet LNG Ltd. (Rs. 274.05,-0.25%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4571 , shares advanced were 2845 while 1448 shares declined and 278 were unchanged.
