Mid-Session: Sensex down 440 points; SBI, Axis Bank top losers

Domestic bourses continued to trade lower during the noon trading session as realty, bank, and financial shares weighed.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 76315.01 down by -440.04 points or by -0.57 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23911.85 down by -84.4 points or by -0.35 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 76726.66 and intraday low of 76289.8 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23990.75 and intraday low of 23876.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 289.00,+1.98%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3235.95,+1.93%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1895.25,+0.95%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2222.60,+0.62%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 281.75,+0.34%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 1007.80,-1.71%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1221.25,-1.49%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 401.45,-1.32%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5053.95,-1.30%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1797.70,-1.19%), among others.



Auto index was at 60507.16 up by 489.4 points or by 0.82%. Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 5170.20,+3.70%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 11280.95,+2.56%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3235.95,+1.93%), Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (Rs. 1982.70,+1.84%), Bosch Ltd. (Rs. 42200.00,+1.60%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4334 , shares advanced were 1772 while 2351 shares declined and 211 were unchanged.
