Post-Session: Sensex, Nifty tank nearly 1%; IndiGo down 3.57%

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty tumbled nearly 1% on Wednesday, extending their losing streak to a third consecutive session. The sharp decline was driven by a surge in crude oil prices, persistent selling in banking stocks, and weak investor sentiment amid rising geopolitical concerns.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 76755.05 down by -715.06 points or by -0.92 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23996.25 down by -191.45 points or by -0.79 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 77384.95 and intraday low of 76641.19 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24166.3 and intraday low of 23961.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2158.00,+0.75%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 350.55,+0.59%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 288.30,+0.58%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4705.65,+0.38%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1950.05,+0.08%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5120.65,-3.57%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1052.30,-1.97%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1025.35,-1.81%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11876.50,-1.80%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1441.00,-1.50%), among others.



FMCG index was at 18349.85 up by 74.73 points or by 0.41%. Emami Ltd. (Rs. 416.20,+3.78%), Gulshan Polyols Ltd. (Rs. 187.15,+3.51%), Eveready Industries India Ltd. (Rs. 361.45,+3.12%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 1492.20,+2.70%), Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals Ltd. (Rs. 164.00,+2.60%),.



Realty index was at 7045.57 down by -189.76 points or by -2.62%. Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 545.35,-3.96%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2083.00,-3.75%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 651.20,-3.33%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1161.00,-3.19%), Aditya Birla Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 1408.85,-2.47%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4653 , shares advanced were 1595 while 2852 shares declined and 206 were unchanged.
