Sensex rises 456 points, Nifty above 24,100

Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rebounded on Monday following a decline in crude oil prices and supportive global cues.



At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 77259.29 up by 456.39 points or by 0.59 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24146.85 up by 133.75 points or by 0.56 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 77275.9 and intraday low of 77008.02 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24159.65 and intraday low of 24073.15



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1338.15,+2.20%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1427.00,+1.15%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1362.00,+1.13%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1062.00,+0.96%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 787.25,+0.93%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1816.75,-1.00%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4978.75,-0.90%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4389.45,-0.76%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 291.75,-0.56%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 290.90,-0.51%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 26673.24 up by 194.74 points or by 0.74%. Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1338.15,+2.20%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 175.95,+1.21%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 309.20,+0.91%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 168.80,+0.57%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 144.00,+0.38%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4292 , shares advanced were 2696 while 1334 shares declined and 262 were unchanged.
