Mid-Session: Sensex down 757 pts, Nifty near 23964

The benchmark indices, Nifty50 and Sensex were trading lower as heavy selling in IT stocks weighed on market sentiment.



At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76652.62 down by -757.36 points or by -0.98 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23964.25 down by -203.75 points or by -0.84 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 76858.8 and intraday low of 76557.31 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24011.5 and intraday low of 23936.25



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 365.80,+1.05%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1891.20,+0.87%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 291.00,+0.83%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 964.60,+0.57%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4409.80,+0.53%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1041.00,-7.65%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2080.10,-5.63%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1380.40,-4.58%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1114.75,-4.04%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 778.85,-2.47%), among others.



Power index was at 8273.92 up by 68.49 points or by 0.83%. GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 5414.55,+3.20%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (Rs. 416.90,+2.70%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 59.69,+2.12%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 365.80,+1.05%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 36606.55,+0.89%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4413 , shares advanced were 2007 while 2155 shares declined and 251 were unchanged.
