Post-Session: Stock markets end lower amid escalating US-Iran tensions

The Sensex and Nifty ended the session in the red, weighed down by geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East.



Persistent foreign capital outflows and concerns about rising US inflation kept investor participation subdued.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 73832.55 down by -150.63 points or by -0.2 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23161.6 down by -53.35 points or by -0.23 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74394.34 and intraday low of 73518.75 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23327.45 and intraday low of 23072.05



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1317.40,+1.87%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3001.20,+1.67%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 392.30,+1.11%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1798.80,+0.65%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1782.15,+0.38%), among others.





The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1114.00,-2.71%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1110.00,-1.95%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1787.30,-1.91%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 235.25,-1.82%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 870.30,-1.56%), among others.



HCS index was at 47100.72 up by 117.39 points or by 0.25%. Indoco Remedies Ltd. (Rs. 244.05,+18.79%), Fischer Medical Ventures Ltd. (Rs. 34.66,+9.27%), Rubicon Research Ltd. (Rs. 1287.70,+8.55%), Blue Jet Healthcare Ltd (Rs. 499.30,+6.30%), Nephrocare Health Services Ltd. (Rs. 758.00,+5.40%),.
