Mid-Session: Sensex up 272 pts; IndiGo, SBI top gainers

The benchmark indices, Nifty50 and Sensex, traded within a narrow range as market participants closely monitored developments related to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.



At 12:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73796.93 up by 272.67 points or by 0.37 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23198.5 up by 75.5 points or by 0.33 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74035.41 and intraday low of 73426.18 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23259.45 and intraday low of 23104.45



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4507.00,+3.34%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 2778.50,+2.02%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1000.60,+1.90%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1272.40,+1.79%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3012.80,+1.63%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 356.80,-1.64%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4129.90,-1.47%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 286.20,-1.46%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1171.40,-1.34%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1483.65,-1.27%), among others.



_Bankex index was at 62012.99 up by 1074.25 points or by 1.76%. Bank of Baroda (Rs. 271.15,+4.63%), Canara Bank (Rs. 137.05,+3.94%), Punjab National Bank (Rs. 109.05,+3.07%), IDFC First Bank Ltd. (Rs. 73.54,+3.00%), Federal Bank Ltd. (Rs. 313.70,+2.92%),.



TECk index was at 14702.24 down by -98.92 points or by -0.67%. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 107.91,-2.89%), Tejas Networks Ltd. (Rs. 532.55,-1.86%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1171.40,-1.34%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1483.65,-1.27%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1139.80,-0.93%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4323 , shares advanced were 2762 while 1340 shares declined and 221 were unchanged.
