Sensex, Nifty firm tracking recovery in global markets

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading firm on Tuesday in-tandem with a recovery in global equity markets and easing of hostilities between Israel and Iran.



At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73636.06 up by 111.8 points or by 0.15 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23170 up by 47 points or by 0.2 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 74035.41 and intraday low of 73583.83 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23259.45 and intraday low of 23160.5



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Trent Ltd. (Rs. 2793.55,+2.57%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4453.30,+2.11%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1269.35,+1.55%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1694.65,+1.42%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 881.30,+1.19%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 356.55,-1.71%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4125.00,-1.59%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 286.25,-1.45%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1481.10,-1.44%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1170.65,-1.40%), among others.



Bankex index was at 61720.34 up by 781.6 points or by 1.28%. IDFC First Bank Ltd. (Rs. 74.10,+3.78%), Federal Bank Ltd. (Rs. 311.90,+2.33%), Bank of Baroda (Rs. 264.70,+2.14%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 910.70,+1.77%), Punjab National Bank (Rs. 107.60,+1.70%),.



IT index was at 27667.26 down by -189.44 points or by -0.68%. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 749.45,-3.83%), Affle 3I Ltd. (Rs. 1468.05,-2.11%), Orient Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 250.50,-1.80%), Ramco Systems Ltd. (Rs. 554.60,-1.79%), Silver Touch Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 185.15,-1.70%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3953 , shares advanced were 2603 while 1125 shares declined and 225 were unchanged.
