Indian benchmark indices, the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50, are expected to open on a cautious note on June 9, tracking weak global cues. Early indications from the GIFT Nifty suggest a subdued start for domestic equities, with the index trading around 23,110.50 during early morning trade.
On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 73524.26 down by -719.08 points or by -0.97 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23123 down by -243.7 points or by -1.04 %.
On the global front, Asian markets were trading on a mixed note in the early trade on Tuesday. The Nikkei 225 was up 1.05 per cent, while the S&P ASX 200 fell 0.63 per cent.
Overnight, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite settled 0.30 per cent and 0.86 per cent higher, respectively. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.16 per cent down.

Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 11766.64 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 2406.94 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 20085.62 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 428.92 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. -8318.98 Crore and Rs. 1978.02
