Sensex, Nifty in red; Eternal, M&M top losers

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade lower as escalating tensions in West Asia dampened investor sentiment and triggered risk aversion across global markets.



Market sentiment weakened after reports that Iran launched missiles at Israel, raising concerns over a fresh escalation in the region and undermining hopes of a diplomatic breakthrough between Washington and Tehran. The development also heightened uncertainty surrounding the durability of the existing ceasefire arrangements and raised fears of a broader geopolitical conflict.



At 14:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 73646.72 down by -596.62 points or by -0.8 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23155.4 down by -211.3 points or by -0.9 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 73934.35 and intraday low of 73318.94 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23267.3 and intraday low of 23070.15



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 291.70,+2.23%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1505.00,+1.50%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 412.70,+1.14%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 364.70,+0.84%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1811.20,+0.68%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 249.65,-2.65%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2965.00,-2.49%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4372.00,-2.38%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2146.00,-2.38%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 871.50,-1.99%), among others.



HCS index was at 47012.49 up by 104.11 points or by 0.22%. Kovai Medical Center and Hospital Ltd. (Rs. 5634.10,+4.76%), Thyrocare Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 540.50,+4.74%), Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 2107.60,+3.75%), 3B BlackBio Dx Ltd. (Rs. 1162.00,+3.65%), Syngene International Ltd. (Rs. 450.00,+3.64%),.



Realty index was at 5880 down by -115.84 points or by -1.93%. Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 540.65,-5.14%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1338.85,-3.03%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1308.35,-2.55%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1669.70,-2.31%), Embassy Developments Ltd. (Rs. 57.38,-2.23%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4766 , shares advanced were 1382 while 3146 shares declined and 238 were unchanged.
