Post-Session: Sensex ends 117 points up; NSE Nifty at 23659

Benchmark equity indices recovered on Wednesday, aided by strong buying activity in the final hours of trade and a sharp surge in heavyweight stock Reliance Industries.



The late-session buying momentum helped the markets bounce back from earlier weakness and close on a stronger note.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 75318.39 up by 117.54 points or by 0.16 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23659 up by 41 points or by 0.17 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75406.18 and intraday low of 74529.41 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23690.9 and intraday low of 23397.3



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1359.75,+2.83%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1773.00,+1.33%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 4109.60,+1.02%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4273.20,+0.99%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1250.65,+0.98%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 413.40,-2.30%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1439.75,-1.85%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 243.30,-1.52%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 207.05,-1.08%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2209.35,-1.01%), among others.



Power index was at 8075.3 up by 141.03 points or by 1.78%. Siemens Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 3459.40,+9.33%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 4695.00,+7.07%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 35496.25,+6.34%), ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 6606.40,+4.43%), CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 853.35,+4.17%),.



FMCG index was at 18635.03 down by -118.55 points or by -0.63%. KSE Ltd. (Rs. 191.45,-6.97%), Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. (Rs. 530.95,-3.53%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. (Rs. 469.00,-3.28%), Mrs. Bectors Food Specialities Ltd. (Rs. 178.60,-3.12%), DOMS Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2266.10,-2.95%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4570 , shares advanced were 2227 while 2094 shares declined and 249 were unchanged.
