Sensex erases gains, slips 100 pts; Nifty below 23700

The Sensex and Nifty50 gave up their early gains during Thursday’s session as selling pressure in IT, FMCG, oil and gas stocks dragged the benchmark indices lower.



At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75246.82 down by -71.57 points or by -0.1 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23651.55 down by -7.45 points or by -0.03 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75945.79 and intraday low of 74996.78 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23859.9 and intraday low of 23596.6



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4416.45,+3.59%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 4180.00,+1.99%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 420.20,+1.64%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1792.25,+1.06%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1893.55,+0.69%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 911.50,-1.34%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1421.00,-1.30%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1183.00,-1.15%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2184.35,-1.12%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1754.15,-1.02%), among others.



CGS index was at 78362.47 up by 1083.99 points or by 1.4%. Honeywell Automation India Ltd. (Rs. 35216.95,+16.72%), Thermax Ltd. (Rs. 4607.60,+4.35%), Kaynes Technology India Ltd. (Rs. 3128.15,+4.22%), Siemens Energy India Ltd. (Rs. 3588.85,+3.74%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 4833.70,+3.01%),.



TECk index was at 15045.67 down by -84.06 points or by -0.56%. Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 1372.50,-2.18%), Bharti Hexacom Ltd. (Rs. 1570.00,-1.58%), Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 5012.70,-1.39%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1421.15,-1.29%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1183.00,-1.15%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4524 , shares advanced were 2514 while 1766 shares declined and 244 were unchanged.
