Mid-Session: Sensex sinks 1,052 pts, Nifty below 22,600

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading near day's low as bank and financial stocks dragged.



At 12:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 72530.59 down by -1052.63 points or by -1.43 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22567.1 down by -252.5 points or by -1.11 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 73165.32 and intraday low of 72326.54 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22714.1 and intraday low of 22453



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 405.75,+0.25%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 295.70,+0.10%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 810.50,-4.01%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1165.60,-3.29%), State Bank of India (Rs. 988.85,-3.06%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1650.00,-2.63%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2962.20,-2.59%), among others.



Metal index was at 37229.87 up by 393.6 points or by 1.07%. National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 392.40,+5.78%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 154.90,+5.77%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 893.00,+3.02%), Jindal Stainless Ltd. (Rs. 732.55,+2.97%), Coal India Ltd. (Rs. 457.55,+2.79%),.
