Stock markets up on slump in oil prices, positive trend in Asian peers

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty continued to trade higher on Wednesday, tracking a sharp decline in crude oil prices and a positive trend in Asian markets, amid hopes of de-escalation in the West Asia war.



At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75482.46 up by 1414.01 points or by 1.91 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23314.95 up by 402.55 points or by 1.76 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75528.43 and intraday low of 74550.47 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23324.95 and intraday low of 23063.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3506.50,+4.18%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4048.70,+3.77%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3138.10,+3.48%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 879.50,+3.47%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11133.00,+3.46%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1422.95,-0.69%), among others.

Realty index was at 5419.16 up by 181.13 points or by 3.46%. Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1574.35,+4.71%), Embassy Developments Ltd. (Rs. 45.29,+4.33%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1504.90,+4.22%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 466.35,+3.76%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 539.70,+3.55%),.



TECk index was at 15133.17 down by 120.59 points or by 0.8%. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1422.95,-0.69%), Indus Towers Ltd. (Rs. 427.80,-0.34%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4235 , shares advanced were 3362 while 666 shares declined and 207 were unchanged.
