Sensex surges 1100 pts, Nifty tops 23,200 on Trump's signal for de-escalation

Indian benchmark indices started the day in green after U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated that discussions to end the ongoing Middle East conflict are underway.



At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75179.65 up by 1111.2 points or by 1.5 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23215.1 up by 302.7 points or by 1.32 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 75181.68 and intraday low of 74550.47 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23220.8 and intraday low of 23063.2



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3498.00,+3.92%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1387.80,+3.24%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 787.00,+2.86%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 874.00,+2.82%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11061.00,+2.79%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1403.25,-2.07%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1271.80,-0.50%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1371.60,-0.13%), among others.



Realty index was at 5407.15 up by 169.12 points or by 3.23%. Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 467.20,+3.95%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 671.10,+3.82%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1556.00,+3.48%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 538.70,+3.36%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 749.30,+3.15%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3708 , shares advanced were 3044 while 495 shares declined and 169 were unchanged.
