Mid-Session: D-Street extends fall, Nifty below 25,500; realty down

Indian benchmarks continued to extend losses during the noon trading session tracking the weakness in the Asian markets. Among sectors IT index slips 3%, while PSU Bank indices up 0.5%. Nifty Midcap and smallcap indices down 0.4% each. Infosys, TCS, IDFC First Bank, Nippon Silver ETF, Eternal are among most active shares on the NSE.



Overseas, European stocks are seen opening on a mixed note Tuesday as investors weigh geopolitical tensions and trade policy shifts.



On the corporate front, Shares of textile companies Gokaldas Exports, Arvind, Trident and Pearl Global Industries fell up to 6 per cent on the BSE in Tuesday’s intra-day trade.



At 12:28 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82279.32 down by -1015.34 points or by -1.22 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25466.05 down by -246.95 points or by -0.96 %.



The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 83079.51 and intraday low of 82264.47 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25641.8 and intraday low of 25446.95.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1744.75,+0.72%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2361.15,+0.70%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 305.00,+0.54%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 376.90,+0.39%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1388.70,+0.16%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1347.00,-6.57%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1338.65,-6.15%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1266.75,-4.64%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 255.80,-4.59%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2576.00,-3.73%), among others.



Among the sectors, Oil&Gas index was at 29090.48 up by -2.51 points or by -0.01%. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 178.40,+1.11%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 441.50,+0.67%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 167.40,+0.21%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 170.20,+0.18%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 373.00,+0.12%),.



On the other side, BSETECk index was at 15563.82 down by -667.2 points or by -4.11%. Persistent Systems Ltd. (Rs. 4608.00,-7.44%), Coforge Ltd. (Rs. 1202.15,-6.67%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1347.00,-6.57%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (Rs. 4528.65,-6.24%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1338.65,-6.15%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4285 , shares advanced were 1254 while 2841 shares declined and 190 were unchanged.
