Post-Session: Sensex falls 770 pts; Nifty at 25,049

Indian equity indices ended Friday’s session lower, extending recent losses as weakness in Adani Group stocks, along with declines in Eternal and IndiGo, weighed on market sentiment.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 81537.7 down by -769.67 points or by -0.94 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25048.65 down by -241.25 points or by -0.95 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82516.27 and intraday low of 81471.82 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25347.95 and intraday low of 25025.3



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2412.05,+0.92%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1701.35,+0.79%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1670.60,+0.44%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2712.00,+0.33%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3160.85,+0.30%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1307.60,-7.52%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 258.65,-6.29%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4703.90,-4.27%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1260.10,-2.72%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1948.65,-2.26%), among others.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4551 , shares advanced were 1434 while 2946 shares declined and 171 were unchanged.
