Sensex sheds 726 pts; Adani shares dip up to 10%

Indian benchmark indices continued to hover in red during the noon trading session as Adani Group stocks along with Eternal and InterGlobe Aviation shares weighed.



At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 81581.2 down by -726.17 points or by -0.88 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25044.75 down by -245.15 points or by -0.97 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82516.27 and intraday low of 81489.11 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25347.95 and intraday low of 25041



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1705.65,+1.05%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2413.80,+0.99%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2728.90,+0.95%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4050.00,+0.78%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3168.30,+0.54%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1301.25,-7.97%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 260.25,-5.71%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4703.95,-4.27%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 253.70,-2.25%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1950.35,-2.18%), among others.



CDS index was at 57231.34 up by 131.34 points or by 0.23%. Voltas Ltd. (Rs. 1317.40,+1.89%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2727.25,+0.89%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4051.00,+0.80%),.



Realty index was at 5918.92 down by -180.85 points or by -2.96%. Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 505.05,-6.02%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 902.35,-4.77%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1557.35,-3.86%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 593.35,-3.31%), Embassy Developments Ltd. (Rs. 60.99,-2.85%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4461 , shares advanced were 1368 while 2923 shares declined and 170 were unchanged.
