Sensex, Nifty pare opening gains amid FII selling pressure

Benchmark stock indices Sensex and Nifty pared opening gains to trade lower in the early session on Friday amid sustained selling by foreign institutional investors.



At 10:25 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82172.36 down by -135.01 points or by -0.16 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25287.95 down by -1.95 points or by -0.01 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82516.27 and intraday low of 82131.49 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25347.95 and intraday low of 25249.1



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2738.90,+1.32%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 191.75,+1.29%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3183.40,+1.02%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 910.30,+0.86%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12454.60,+0.73%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 268.00,-2.90%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4811.80,-2.08%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1394.50,-1.37%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 256.05,-1.35%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1978.05,-0.79%), among others.



Metal index was at 38793.72 up by 577.83 points or by 1.51%. Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (Rs. 703.30,+5.32%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 380.70,+4.43%), APL Apollo Tubes Ltd. (Rs. 2046.35,+3.75%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 155.45,+2.57%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 693.90,+2.27%),.



Realty index was at 6032.85 down by -66.92 points or by -1.1%. Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 761.60,-2.42%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 926.45,-2.23%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 528.90,-1.58%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1405.05,-1.19%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1601.70,-1.12%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3833 , shares advanced were 1753 while 1872 shares declined and 208 were unchanged.
