Mid-Session: Sensex up 175 points; NSE Nifty at 25242.4

Indian equities traded sharply higher on Thursday after US President Donald Trump said he would refrain from imposing tariffs on EU nations on February 1, following the establishment of a “framework for a future deal” with NATO on Greenland.



At 12:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 82085.07 up by 175.44 points or by 0.21 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25242.4 up by 84.9 points or by 0.34 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82783.18 and intraday low of 81915.85 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25435.75 and intraday low of 25177.85



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 187.90,+1.93%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1403.40,+1.81%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1044.70,+1.61%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2692.95,+1.24%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4909.10,+1.06%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 279.00,-1.55%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4020.15,-1.47%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 898.50,-0.99%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1343.35,-0.38%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 917.05,-0.34%), among others.



CGS index was at 62771.39 up by 924.45 points or by 1.49%. Waaree Energies Ltd. (Rs. 2615.00,+8.25%), Apar Industries Ltd. (Rs. 7231.70,+3.90%), GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. (Rs. 2646.90,+3.69%), Supreme Industries Ltd. (Rs. 3472.00,+3.68%), Astral Ltd. (Rs. 1390.00,+3.16%),.



Realty index was at 6101.08 down by -41.28 points or by -0.67%. Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 958.50,-2.24%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1609.10,-2.07%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 1475.80,-1.77%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 1424.45,-1.09%), DLF Ltd. (Rs. 612.90,-0.79%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4333 , shares advanced were 2825 while 1313 shares declined and 195 were unchanged.
