Post-Session: Sensex settles 300 pts lower, Nifty ends below 25,600

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed lower on Monday, dragged by sharp declines in heavyweight stocks such as Reliance Industries, Eternal, and ICICI Bank, amid rising global tariff concerns.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 83246.18 down by -324.17 points or by -0.39 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25585.5 down by -108.85 points or by -0.42 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 83539.93 and intraday low of 82898.31 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25653.3 and intraday low of 25494.35



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 4942.50,+4.30%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1718.10,+2.85%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2413.15,+2.27%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 971.20,+2.18%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 426.70,+2.02%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1413.25,-3.04%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1379.80,-2.26%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 281.25,-2.19%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4138.05,-1.40%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1401.70,-1.39%), among others.



FMCG index was at 19145.82 up by 74.96 points or by 0.39%. Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd. (Rs. 2180.80,+3.74%), Hatsun Agro Products Ltd. (Rs. 947.75,+2.92%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2413.15,+2.27%), CCL Products India Ltd. (Rs. 984.80,+1.48%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 547.50,+1.34%),.



Realty index was at 6518.92 down by -129.26 points or by -1.94%. Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1798.70,-4.78%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd. (Rs. 808.05,-3.54%), Lodha Developers Ltd. (Rs. 1043.50,-2.52%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 1492.40,-2.26%), Anant Raj Ltd. (Rs. 541.75,-1.79%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4680 , shares advanced were 1344 while 3137 shares declined and 199 were unchanged.
