Indian stock markets closed higher on Friday, supported by gains in information technology (IT) and banking stocks. However, the upside was partly capped as selling pressure in pharma and consumer durables shares weighed on overall market sentiment.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 83570.35 up by 187.64 points or by 0.23 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25694.35 up by 28.75 points or by 0.11 %.
