Mid-Session: Sensex up 289 points; NSE Nifty at 25755.6

Domestic bourses continued to trade higher during the noon trading session supported by buying in index heavyweights including Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra, IndusInd Bank Ltd among others.



At 12:50 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 83671.94 up by 289.23 points or by 0.35 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25755.6 up by 90 points or by 0.35 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84134.97 and intraday low of 83510.34 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25873.5 and intraday low of 25678.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1688.00,+5.56%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1665.65,+4.86%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 957.20,+1.33%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1041.75,+1.31%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1689.70,+1.26%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 292.30,-2.31%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1666.90,-1.98%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 15890.00,-1.57%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 329.95,-1.43%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1403.55,-1.03%), among others.



_IT index was at 37793.97 up by 1260.04 points or by 3.45%. Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1688.00,+5.56%), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. (Rs. 7935.00,+5.34%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (Rs. 6347.00,+5.26%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1665.65,+4.86%), MphasiS Ltd. (Rs. 2925.00,+4.80%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4401 , shares advanced were 2089 while 2087 shares declined and 225 were unchanged.
