Stock markets rally driven by surge in Infosys shares

Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rallied on Friday, driven by a sharp jump in Infosys after the company raised its revenue growth guidance for FY26.



At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84050.67 up by 667.96 points or by 0.8 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25865.6 up by 200 points or by 0.78 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84134.97 and intraday low of 83510.34 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25872.4 and intraday low of 25678.4



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1682.70,+5.23%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1641.95,+3.36%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3725.15,+2.08%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 961.45,+1.62%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2028.80,+1.36%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1676.85,-1.39%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 295.30,-1.30%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2010.00,-0.64%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 332.65,-0.63%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16090.00,-0.33%), among others.



IT index was at 37677.18 up by 1143.25 points or by 3.13%. Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1682.70,+5.23%), MphasiS Ltd. (Rs. 2926.85,+4.87%), Birlasoft Ltd. (Rs. 439.00,+4.82%), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. (Rs. 7848.35,+4.19%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (Rs. 6280.20,+4.15%),.



HCS index was at 43153.88 down by -208.78 points or by -0.48%. Strides Pharma Science Ltd. (Rs. 915.00,-2.62%), Cipla Ltd. (Rs. 1401.05,-2.34%), Jupiter Life Line Hospitals Ltd. (Rs. 1337.40,-2.29%), Unichem Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 404.15,-1.95%), Themis Medicare Ltd. (Rs. 94.10,-1.88%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4127 , shares advanced were 2339 while 1558 shares declined and 230 were unchanged.
