Mid-Session: Sensex surges 400 points; Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank top gainers

Indian equity benchmarks were trading with modest gains on Wednesday, led by buying interest in heavyweights such as JSW Steel, Reliance Industries and Titan Company, supporting overall market sentiment.



At 12:25 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85076.22 up by 401.14 points or by 0.47 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26059.7 up by 120.85 points or by 0.47 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 85093.97 and intraday low of 84705.57 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26064 and intraday low of 25969



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 180.05,+2.45%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 856.85,+1.82%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 264.75,+1.71%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1566.60,+1.67%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4039.70,+1.65%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3219.45,-0.86%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 981.05,-0.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1597.10,-0.48%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1617.05,-0.45%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2030.70,-0.30%), among others.



Oil&Gas index was at 28634.77 up by 689.45 points or by 2.47%. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 493.85,+5.44%), Oil India Ltd. (Rs. 427.40,+3.79%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 382.95,+3.58%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 166.70,+3.22%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 195.00,+1.96%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4294 , shares advanced were 2789 while 1314 shares declined and 191 were unchanged.
