Sensex down 69 points; NSE Nifty at 25916.6

Stock markets in India were trading lower weighed down by selling in index heavy weights.



At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84625.89 down by -69.65 points or by -0.08 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25916.6 down by -25.5 points or by -0.1 %.



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 176.15,+2.26%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3655.75,+1.78%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1245.00,+1.05%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2100.60,+0.91%), State Bank of India (Rs. 973.60,+0.91%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 276.15,-2.40%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5007.35,-1.54%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11691.90,-0.90%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1630.85,-0.89%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 989.85,-0.78%), among others.



Metal index was at 36282.6 up by 712.26 points or by 2%. Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 141.00,+5.11%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 315.50,+4.89%), Jindal Stainless Ltd. (Rs. 829.75,+4.37%), NMDC Ltd. (Rs. 83.60,+3.41%), Jindal Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1022.15,+3.23%),.



CDS index was at 59244.1 down by -422.1 points or by -0.71%. Amber Enterprises India Ltd. (Rs. 6315.50,-2.68%), Berger Paints (India) Ltd. (Rs. 530.35,-2.62%), Voltas Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4450 , shares advanced were 1914 while 2335 shares declined and 201 were unchanged.
