Sensex, Nifty decline amid persistent foreign fund outflows

Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading lower on Tuesday as persistent foreign fund outflows and a muted trend in global equities dented investors' sentiment.



At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84680.49 down by -15.05 points or by -0.02 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25952.55 up by 10.45 points or by 0.04 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84802.64 and intraday low of 84470.94 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25975.85 and intraday low of 25878



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3639.95,+1.34%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1467.35,+0.90%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16707.00,+0.89%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1241.90,+0.80%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2096.55,+0.72%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 278.35,-1.63%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1982.70,-1.44%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5022.30,-1.24%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2141.70,-0.79%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11707.00,-0.77%), among others.



Auto index was at 61821.84 up by 525.34 points or by 0.86%. Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 5672.45,+1.93%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 9225.50,+1.56%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3639.95,+1.34%), Ashok Leyland Ltd. (Rs. 177.05,+1.23%), TVS Motor Company Ltd. (Rs. 3610.00,+1.04%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3979 , shares advanced were 1762 while 1972 shares declined and 245 were unchanged.
