Sensex down 47 points; NSE Nifty was 25924.15

Indian equity markets were trading in the red, pressured by broad-based selling across sectors.



On the Sensex, stocks such as Eternal, Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, InterGlobe Aviation, UltraTech Cement, State Bank of India, HCL Technologies, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Titan Company, Bajaj Finserv, Maruti Suzuki, Infosys, and HDFC Bank were among the top losers, declining by up to 1.6 per cent.



Meanwhile, gains were limited to a handful of stocks, with Bharat Electronics, Axis Bank, Adani Ports, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, and Reliance Industries emerging as the top gainers.



At 9:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 84648.02 down by -47.52 points or by -0.06 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25924.15 down by -17.95 points or by -0.07 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 84698.93 and intraday low of 84470.94 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25956.15 and intraday low of 25878



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3628.05,+1.01%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1461.55,+0.50%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 2091.80,+0.49%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1550.00,+0.30%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16605.00,+0.27%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5019.00,-1.31%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 279.75,-1.13%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1997.00,-0.73%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2148.00,-0.50%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1637.70,-0.47%), among others.

Auto index was at 61629.51 up by 333.01 points or by 0.54%. Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 5655.40,+1.63%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3628.05,+1.01%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 9169.40,+0.94%), TVS Motor Company Ltd. (Rs. 3599.65,+0.75%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 361.20,+0.73%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3493 , shares advanced were 1445 while 1861 shares declined and 187 were unchanged.
